Local SEO + AI Search
for Green Bay businesses

Show up in Google local search AND in ChatGPT, Claude, and Google AI Overviews when customers ask for businesses like yours. Two strategies, one plan. From $99/mo.

Two Strategies

Traditional SEO and AI search optimization are not the same thing

Traditional SEO

Google blue-link search

Optimizing for the classic Google search results page. Local pack rankings, map pins, organic blue links. Driven by on-page optimization, Google Business Profile, local citations, and a well-structured website.

  • • On-page title, H1, meta description optimization
  • • Structured data (Schema.org)
  • • Google Business Profile management
  • • Local citation consistency
  • • Mobile-first page speed
  • • Internal linking and sitemap health

GEO (AI Search)

ChatGPT, Claude, Google AI Overviews

Optimizing for AI-powered search tools that read your content and cite you in answers. Driven by machine-readable structured data, plain-text summaries, and consistent facts across every surface that mentions your business.

  • • llms.txt file with business summary
  • • Rich FAQPage + Service JSON-LD schema
  • • Cross-surface fact consistency
  • • Question-answer content structure
  • • Clear citations to public sources
  • • Content written for LLM retrieval

Most agencies only do traditional SEO. Most AI optimization consultants are selling vague strategy decks. We do both, in practice, on every site we build — and we measure results for both in the monthly report.

Why It Matters

Customers are asking ChatGPT for restaurant recommendations

The shift is already happening. In 2026, a growing share of "restaurants near me" queries never touch a Google search results page. A customer asks ChatGPT or Claude what is good in Manitowoc, the AI returns three places with a summary and a map link, and the customer picks one without comparing. If your business is not one of the three, you are invisible for that query.

This is not theoretical. Google is rolling out AI Overviews above the classic blue-link results. Bing has Copilot search. Perplexity is pulling market share. ChatGPT Search went public last year and is in everyone's pocket. The traditional SEO playbook still works, but it is no longer the whole game.

The good news for local small businesses: GEO is still early. Most competitors have no idea what llms.txt is or why FAQPage schema matters for AI retrieval. The businesses that figure it out now will have a multi-year head start over the ones who wait.

What We Actually Do

The monthly work, unglamorously

Technical SEO audit

Schema validation, sitemap health, canonical URL check, robots.txt review, mobile page speed, Core Web Vitals.

Google Business Profile management

Weekly posts, photos, Q&A responses, service updates, holiday hours, review replies. The single biggest factor for local rankings.

llms.txt maintenance

Monthly refresh of the plain-text summary file so AI crawlers always have the current hours, menu, services, and announcements.

FAQPage schema updates

New questions added as they come up — pulled from real customer calls, Google Business Q&A, and Search Console queries.

Local citation building

Adding your business to Yelp, Bing Places, Apple Maps, TripAdvisor, Yellow Pages, industry directories, and Chamber of Commerce listings.

Monthly performance report

Which keywords are ranking, which are improving, which competitors are moving, what we recommend next month. One page, written in plain English.

Cross-surface consistency audit

Making sure hours, pricing, services, and contact info match exactly across your website, Google Business, llms.txt, social profiles, and third-party directories.

Content gap analysis

Which questions your customers are asking that your site does not answer. Quarterly content recommendations based on Search Console data.

Pricing

SEO is bundled with the Growth and Pro plans

We do not sell SEO as a standalone retainer. It is included with our Growth plan ($99/mo) and above. The reason: doing SEO without controlling the website is like trying to renovate a house you do not own — you can make recommendations, but the best work happens when the design, the content, the schema, and the optimization are all maintained together.

Growth Plan

$99/mo

or $79/mo annual

Website build + local SEO + GEO + Google Business management + monthly performance reports. The default plan for any business serious about showing up in search.

Pro Plan

$149/mo

or $119/mo annual

Everything in Growth plus e-commerce, AI chat assistant, unlimited content updates, and a quarterly strategy call. For businesses that treat search as a primary channel.

Frequently Asked

SEO and GEO questions

What is GEO and how is it different from traditional SEO?+
GEO stands for Generative Engine Optimization — the practice of making your business discoverable to AI-powered search tools like ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, and Claude. Traditional SEO optimizes for Google's blue-link search results. GEO optimizes for AI systems that read your content, build a summary, and cite you in an answer. The techniques overlap (structured data, clear content, schema markup) but GEO puts more weight on `llms.txt` files, FAQPage schema, and making your facts easy to extract and attribute.
How long does it take to see SEO results?+
Local SEO for well-defined queries like '[your business name] [your city]' typically shows up within two to four weeks after we launch. Broader category rankings ('hair salon Green Bay', 'dispensary Houghton MI', 'dispensary near me') take two to six months of consistent work — Google has to see the site indexed, understand what it is, trust the schema, and start ranking it against competitors. AI search tends to pick up faster than Google because the AI crawlers are hungry for structured content and there are fewer competitors optimizing for it yet.
Do I need paid Google Ads too?+
Not necessarily. For local businesses, a strong Google Business Profile plus a well-optimized website can carry most of the traffic organically. We manage Google Business Profile as part of the Growth plan ($99/mo) which is usually enough. If you want to layer Google Ads on top, we can run a campaign on a separate ad-spend budget — but we do not recommend Google Ads to clients unless the organic baseline is already working.
What is llms.txt and do I need one?+
llms.txt is a plain-text file at the root of your website that describes your business in a format AI crawlers can easily read. It is a new convention — similar to robots.txt for search engines — and it is the single biggest lever for GEO optimization. We include a custom-written llms.txt on every site we build as part of the Starter plan. We keep it updated with hours, menu changes, new services, and seasonal announcements.
How do you optimize for Google AI Overviews and ChatGPT?+
Four main techniques: (1) structured data using Schema.org markup — LocalBusiness, Restaurant, Service, FAQPage, BreadcrumbList, AggregateRating, etc. — so AI systems can extract exact facts. (2) An `llms.txt` file that summarizes the business in plain language. (3) Content written in a way that directly answers questions an AI would be asked (hours, location, menu, pricing, FAQs). (4) Cross-surface consistency — the same facts in JSON-LD, llms.txt, page copy, Google Business Profile, and any cited sources so the AI is not forced to pick between conflicting versions.
What is the difference between SEO and 'local SEO'?+
Local SEO is SEO for businesses whose customers are geographically nearby — restaurants, salons, dentists, dispensaries, tattoo shops. It emphasizes Google Business Profile, local citations, proximity signals, map-pack rankings, and location-specific keywords like 'barbershop Neenah WI'. General SEO covers the broader ranking factors. Most small businesses only need local SEO. We specialize in it because every site we build is for a Northeast Wisconsin or Upper Peninsula local business.
What is included in monthly SEO work?+
On the Growth plan ($99/mo): ongoing on-page optimization, Google Business Profile updates (hours, posts, photos, Q&A), monthly llms.txt refreshes, schema markup audits, local citation building, monthly performance reports showing which keywords are ranking and which are improving, and quarterly content strategy recommendations. We do not do black-hat link building, we do not buy directory links, and we do not spam. The work is slow, compounding, and boring — which is why it actually works.
