Hire an AI Teammate

Your next employee could be AI

Each one is a role you can hire on its own — the front desk, the scheduler, the reputation manager, the social media manager, the follow-up rep. Pick one or build the whole team. Every add-on is à la carte and runs about a day's wages a month, so you pay only for the AI you actually use, and it frees your people for the work that genuinely needs a human.

The front desk that never closes

AI Chat Assistant

A chatbot on your website that knows your hours, menu, services, pricing, location, and frequently asked questions. Customers get instant answers without calling or waiting for you to respond to an email. Handles 60 to 80 percent of routine customer questions without escalation. Hands off to a real human for anything it is not confident about.

$49/mo · à la carte

Your front desk, by text

AI Text Bot (SMS)

A conversational SMS assistant on a real business number. Customers text in — after hours, mid-rush, whenever — and the AI answers, books, and hands off to you when someone wants more (offering to schedule a call if it is after hours). This is the "text DEMO to try it" product: the ad itself is a live demo.

$79/mo · includes 250 conversations

Your scheduler

Appointment Booking Bot

Customers chat with the bot on your website or by text, describe what they want, and book an appointment synced directly to your Google Calendar or Acuity. The bot knows your services, prices, available times, and any restrictions (e.g. "no pedicures after 5 PM on weekdays"). Handles reschedules and cancellations too.

$59/mo · à la carte

Your reputation manager

Automated Google Review Responses

When a new review posts on Google, the AI drafts a personalized reply in your voice, citing something specific from the review. You approve it with one click from your inbox (or let it auto-post if you trust it). Covers 5-star celebrations, 1-star damage control, and everything in between. Integrates with Google Business Profile API.

$29/mo · à la carte

Your social media manager

AI Content Engine

Weekly or monthly content written in your brand voice, ready to post. Includes Facebook and Instagram captions, Google Business Profile posts, seasonal specials, promotional announcements, and customer-spotlight content. Optionally auto-posts on a schedule if you prefer hands-off.

$49/mo · à la carte

The follow-up rep who never forgets

Lead Follow-up Automation

When a new lead fills out your contact form but does not book, the AI drafts a personalized follow-up on day 2, day 5, and day 10. Includes a soft pitch, a free consultation offer, and a 'no is fine' opt-out. Tracks opens and replies. You approve each send or let it auto-send if you trust the draft.

How We Build It

Real integrations, not ChatGPT in a disguise

We build AI integrations as actual software — API calls from a backend service, running on a schedule or triggered by events in your business. The AI model (Claude or GPT) is the language-understanding layer, but it is wrapped in real code that handles authentication, data storage, error recovery, rate limiting, and context loading.

Nothing we ship depends on a customer having a ChatGPT subscription, browsing to a chat interface, or copy-pasting output from a web UI. When a new Google review posts, the response draft happens automatically. When a customer chats with your website, the answer comes from your knowledge base plus live context about your current hours and menu. When Monday morning rolls around, the social media posts for the week are already in your inbox waiting for approval.

Under the hood, every integration runs on the same stack: Anthropic or OpenAI APIs, a FastAPI or Azure Functions backend, TypeScript or Python code, and Azure Table Storage or Postgres for state. We dogfood this on our own business — the joeckel.design contact form, the lead pipeline, the pitch email system, and the AI content for our own social channels all run on the same architecture.

Right-Sized AI

AI only where it earns its keep

Everyone wants the automation. Nobody wants the runaway AI bill. The reason most "AI-everything" tools get expensive is that they run a language model for work plain software could do for a fraction of the cost — then meter you per message and pass the bill straight to you.

We build the opposite way. A model gets called only for the part of a workflow that genuinely needs judgment — understanding a customer's question, writing a reply in your voice, turning a messy request into a clean booking. Everything around it — scheduling, sending, posting, storing, retrying — runs on ordinary deterministic code that costs almost nothing and never hallucinates.

That discipline is why your price is a flat monthly number instead of a meter, and it's why the automations are more reliable: the predictable 80 percent of every workflow is handled by code that does the same thing every time, with the model reserved for the 20 percent only it can do. Knowing exactly where that line sits — where AI is worth it and where it's waste — is the expertise you're paying for.

  • Flat, predictable pricing

Normal usage is included. No per-message meter, no surprise month-two invoice.

  • More reliable

The deterministic parts can't drift or hallucinate — AI is reserved for what only it can do.

  • Proven on our own shop

We run our own marketing this way — AI for the words, plain code for the moving parts.

Privacy & Data

Your customer data stays in your systems

AI integrations we build send narrow pieces of context (a customer question, a review text, an appointment request) to Claude or GPT through the official APIs and receive a response. We do not warehouse customer conversations in a third-party database. We do not share data with any party beyond the API provider handling that specific request.

Anthropic and OpenAI both offer enterprise-grade privacy — API traffic is not used for model training, requests are encrypted in transit, and both providers offer data processing agreements for businesses that need them. For healthcare, legal, or financial workloads that need HIPAA or SOC 2 compliance, we can run the entire pipeline through Azure OpenAI on your own Azure subscription, which keeps data inside the Microsoft compliance boundary.

Pricing

À la carte — pay only for the AI you use

Each add-on is its own flat monthly service, decoupled from website hosting: AI Chatbot $49/mo, AI Text Bot $79/mo (250 conversations included), Booking Bot $59/mo, Review Responder $29/mo, Content Engine $49/mo, Lead Follow-up $39/mo. Bundle any three for $119/mo, or take the whole team for $179/mo. AI Search (GEO) stays inside the Growth and Pro website plans. Normal usage is included — only the text bot meters overage past its allotment, and only at high volume. For bespoke agents and workflow automation, see AI Development.

And your first month is free: once it's live, you pay nothing until month two — then it's your plan, cancel anytime.

Frequently Asked

AI integration questions

Can you build an AI chatbot for my website?+
Yes. The AI chatbot we build is a real custom chat assistant — not a generic widget. It loads your business information (hours, menu, services, pricing, FAQs, location, brand voice) into the model context on every request, so customer questions get specific, accurate answers. The AI chatbot handles 60 to 80 percent of routine questions without escalation — "are you open Sunday?", "do you take walk-ins?", "what is your price range?" — and hands off to a real human via your contact form for anything it cannot confidently answer. The AI chat assistant is included on the Pro website plan.
Do you build AI booking bots for restaurants, salons, and service businesses?+
Yes. The AI booking bot is conversational — customers describe what they want in plain language ("can I get a haircut Friday around 3?") and the bot books the appointment directly into your Google Calendar or Acuity. It knows your services, prices, available times, staff rotation, and any restrictions (e.g. no pedicures after 5pm on weekdays). It handles reschedules, cancellations, and confirmation reminders. Works through your website, Facebook Messenger, or SMS depending on where your customers are.
What is AI for small business actually good at?+
The honest answer: AI for small business is good at recurring written work, customer-facing Q&A, and turning unstructured input into structured action. Specifically — drafting personalized review replies, answering hours/menu/pricing questions on your website 24/7, writing weekly social posts in your brand voice, taking a customer chat and turning it into a calendar booking, following up with leads who did not convert. AI is bad at — and we will not pitch you on — anything that requires legal or medical authority, anything where being wrong has real consequences, and anything that needs your judgment about a specific customer relationship. The line is roughly: routine work AI does, judgment work humans keep.
What does "AI integration" actually mean for a small business?+
In practice, it means deploying Claude, GPT, or other large language models inside tools your business already uses — the website, Google Business Profile, your email inbox, your Facebook page, your booking system — to automate repetitive work. Things like answering "what are your hours?" at 2 AM, drafting personalized replies to every Google review, writing weekly social posts, following up with leads who did not book, or letting customers schedule appointments through a chatbot. We build these as real integrations with your existing infrastructure, not as a separate subscription to ChatGPT.
Will the AI sound like my business or like a generic robot?+
Every AI integration we ship is trained on your actual business — your hours, menu, services, pricing, FAQs, brand voice, and any specific things you want us to say or avoid saying. We start with a discovery call where we capture how you talk about your business, then build a prompt that preserves that voice. During the first week after launch we iterate on edge cases you catch. The goal is that a customer reading an AI-drafted review reply should not be able to tell it was not written by you.
Who handles customer data when an AI is involved?+
Your customer data stays in your systems. The AI integrations we build send narrow pieces of context (the customer's question, the review text, the appointment request) to Claude or GPT through the Anthropic or OpenAI APIs and receive a response. We do not store conversation history in a third-party database, and we do not use any customer data to train models. Anthropic's API has enterprise-grade privacy guarantees and is HIPAA-compatible when configured correctly. For businesses handling sensitive data we can run the entire pipeline through Azure OpenAI on your own Azure subscription.
How much does an AI chat assistant cost?+
The AI chat assistant is $49/mo as a standalone add-on — it attaches to any website plan or runs on its own if you already have a site. That covers the build, integration, training on your business information, and ongoing updates. Normal API usage (Claude or GPT tokens) is included; there is no per-message meter at typical small-business volume. Most add-ons run about a day's wages a month.
Will AI get expensive for my small business?+
It does not have to — and keeping it from getting expensive is most of our job. The reason AI tools blow up small-business budgets is that they run a large language model for work that plain software could do for a fraction of the cost, and then they meter you per message. We build the opposite way: the AI model is called only for the part of a workflow that genuinely needs judgment (understanding a customer question, writing a reply in your voice, turning a messy request into a clean booking), and everything around it — scheduling, sending, posting, storing, retrying — runs on ordinary deterministic code that costs almost nothing. Normal usage is included in your flat monthly plan, so you get a predictable number, not a meter.
Do you charge per AI message or per token?+
No. Your plan is a flat monthly price (Growth $99/mo, Pro $149/mo) with normal API usage included — there is no per-message or per-token meter for typical small-business volume. We can price it flat because we engineer each automation to use the AI model only where it is actually needed and run the rest on cheap, deterministic code, which keeps the underlying cost low. Overage only applies at genuinely high volume, and we would flag it long before it ever mattered.
Can you build custom AI agents that are not in your standard service list?+
Yes. The six services listed on this page (chat assistant, review responses, booking bot, content engine, lead follow-up, AI SEO) are the most common asks, but custom agents are absolutely in scope. Common custom builds include: internal staff tools that summarize customer call transcripts, automated invoice data extraction, inventory tracking bots, email triage assistants, and CRM enrichment pipelines. Custom work is quoted per project after a discovery call.
What AI models and providers do you use?+
Primary: Claude from Anthropic, because it is the most reliable model for writing that actually sounds human and following brand voice instructions. Secondary: GPT from OpenAI, for workflows where OpenAI-specific features are cleaner. For sensitive workloads we run Claude or GPT through Azure OpenAI on your own Azure subscription. We avoid lock-in by writing integration code that can swap providers in a few hours if needed — which matters because the AI model landscape changes fast.
How is this different from just using ChatGPT myself?+
ChatGPT is a chat interface for humans. What we build is automation — the AI runs on a schedule or when triggered by an event (a new review, a customer question on your website, a scheduled time to post on Facebook) and does the work without you opening a tab. You still benefit from using ChatGPT yourself for one-off questions. The AI services on this page are for recurring work that would otherwise eat your day.
